Installation

Supported versions

• Cinema 4D 2026 or later

Install with aescripts + aeplugins manager (recommended)

We recommend installing Motion Manager with aescripts + aeplugins manager.

1. Download and install the manager from the aescripts + aeplugins manager page.

2. Launch the manager and log in with the account you used to purchase Motion Manager.

3. Select Motion Manager in the plugin list and click Install. The plugin is installed automatically.

4. Restart Cinema 4D.

5. Choose Extensions > Motion Manager from the menu to launch it.

Install manually

If you can’t use aescripts + aeplugins manager, install Motion Manager manually:

1. Unzip the file you received after purchase.

2. Copy the MotionManager folder inside it to the Cinema 4D plugins folder. If the plugins folder doesn’t exist, create it.

   • Windows: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Maxon\<version>\plugins
   • Mac: ~/Library/Preferences/Maxon/<version>/plugins

3. Restart Cinema 4D.

4. Choose Extensions > Motion Manager from the menu to launch it.

Note

The <version> folder name depends on your Cinema 4D version. If you have several versions installed, choose the folder for the version you want to use Motion Manager with.

Tip

In Cinema 4D, open Edit > Preferences and click the Open Preferences Folder button in the bottom-left corner of the window. This opens the <version> folder directly. Put the plugins folder inside it.

Tip

The AppData folder on Windows and the Library folder on Mac are hidden by default. If you don’t use the Open Preferences Folder button, you can open them like this:

• Windows: Type %APPDATA%\Maxon in the File Explorer address bar and press Enter.
• Mac: In Finder, choose Go > Go to Folder… and enter ~/Library/Preferences/Maxon.
